Brunello Cucinelli is synonymous with understated Italian luxury. The finest cashmere, suede and handcrafted accessories are the touch points of this iconic men’s and women’s lifestyle brand favored by the likes of Kate Middleton, Gwyneth Paltrow and Daniel Craig. Now for fall, Cucinelli is upping its women’s footwear assortment at Saks with a collection inspired by the roaring Twenties. Titled “Urban Charleston,” the classic silhouettes have a by a rock n’ roll edge. Casual brushed leather combat boots have a shearling lining and rubber soles. Calfskin metallic high-top sneakers offer wisps of cashmere fur and geometric suede patching, while Oxfords and moccasins in grayish neutrals play to the brand’s preppy side. Chunky heels, knee-high boots and wedges round out the group and answer the call to this season’s wide trouser leg.
“Luxury for me has always meant craftsmanship and impeccable quality and our footwear follows these rules,” says Brunello Cucinelli, founder, chairman and chief executive officer at Brunello Cucinelli. “We want to make sure the woman wearing our shoes will feel elegant but also comfortable. We play with the juxtaposition of masculine and feminine, which gives the Cucinelli look a more modern touch. This fall, we used precious materials, from the leathers to the fur accents, to create a collection both luxurious and strong.”
The fall 2012 Brunello Cucinelli footwear collection retails from $890 to $2,350 at select Saks Fifth Avenue stores nationwide.
