Every makeup artist swears by it. Every magazine editor raves about it. Even before I knew how to use it, I knew that I had to have it. As far as I am concerned, every beauty fanatic counts Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat as part of her makeup arsenal — and who am I to be left out?
So, a few years back, I treated myself the iconic click pen, and have enjoyed discovering new ways to use it ever since.
In honor of the 20th anniversary of the gold standard of all things glow, here are some of my favorite ways to Touche up:
(1) Apply a dab on each side of the bridge of the nose to fake a good night of sleep. Blend along the “marionette” lines (those pesky lines that run from just below the nostrils to the outside of the mouth) to airbrush away the wrinkle.
(2) Swipe on the eyelid as a base to improve the hold of eye shadow.
(3) Apply around the lips to sharpen and enhance the cupid’s bow.
(4) Define your nails by blending a bit of Touche Eclat around the cuticle — my favorite way to fake a fresh buffed manicure.
Oh — and according to WWD, a foundation version of Touche Eclat is on the way. It should be on counters in the US by late July, so mark your calendars!
