Since launching Veronica Beard last fall, sisters-in-law, Veronica Beard Swanson and Veronica Miele Beard (affectionately known in the industry as the Veronicas) have sought to bring ease and chic to multi-tasking women everywhere. The Manhattan-based Beards’ signature looks include classic blazers in a range of herringbones, silks and leather. The house’s signature are dickies, which come in a range of materials enabling the wearer to pop under a jacket or sweater and rev up her look.

“We’re mothers and we wanted to create go-to uniforms for women with busy lives like ours,” says Veronica Beard Swanson, a former fashion buyer. “These pieces are designed to be the cornerstones in a wardrobe that can help cultivate an easy sense of style.”

This season, the two Veronicas added day dresses and tuxedo jackets to their assortment, the latter of which cater to colorful daytime inserts as well as beaded, evening options that epitomize day-to-night ease.

Here, the designers show SaksPOV their process in creating the Tuxedo Jacket with Beaded Dickey all in New York City.
