Summer makeup collections are always a personal favorite of mine. They tend to feature tawny tones with bright bursts of color, and have this power to transport me (at least on the outside) from the concrete jungle of New York City to the sunny sand of somewhere far far away. In the case of Guerlain by Emilio Pucci that sand is along the Italian Riviera, and I am surrounded by an energy that joyful yet still impossibly glamorous at the same time.
A collaboration between Guerlain Creative Director Olivier Echaudemaison and Pucci’s Image Director, Laudomia Pucci, the gorgeous packaging is not the only standout feature of this collection.
The Terra Azzurra Bronzing Powder & Blush comes tucked inside the most beautiful Pucci print pouch (inspired by the iconic Winter Capri print from the Emilio Pucci Archives) and the blush/bronzer hybrid gives a girl options — and what girl doesn’t love options? Stick to the bronze powder if you want a natural effect, and if you decide to go for sculpted bronze, dip into the three blush shades and sweep along the top of the cheekbones to contour.
Guerlain’s Khol Kajal liner is a cult (and personal) favorite. The intense indigo blue is the perfect hue for a sophisticated stare. Line the inner rims of the upper and lower lash line to define the eye, then complete the beach bombshell look with a swipe of Terracotta Gloss in Portofino (super shiny coral that screams summer) on the lips.
Now if you will please excuse me, I have to mentally pack my make-believe suitcase for the Mediterranean.
