With light-as-air smartphones and tablets that can fit into even the slimmest attaché case, it’s perhaps challenging to channel what carrying around a bag of coal might be like. But that’s just what Jack Spade, Vice President and Brand Director Cuan Hanly did in creating one of Spade’s most utilitarian carryall for spring and summer. “The Striped Coal Bag is inspired by the classic Breton Stripe, “Hanly says. “We loosened up the pattern by hand-painting the stripes, giving it an irregular and unique look.”
Made from 24-ounce industrial canvas and waxed cotton with a removable shoulder strap the bag is thoroughly modern and easy to wear — and it can certainly fit a plethora of gadgets. “It looks fresh when paired with a khaki suit, yet durable enough to hold all of your gear for a day at the beach,” adds Hanly.
