As a master of luxe separates and subtle indulgences, Brunello Cucinelli has a deep understanding of the elements of luxury and fashion. Even the designer’s newly expanded boutique at Saks Fifth Avenue in New York echoes Cucinelli’s ethos that beautiful things can feel as good as they look.
Here, the Perugia, Italy-born designer tells SaksPOV readers his favorite spring luxuries — from the perfectly ephemeral to the simply covetable.
“This is the time of spring, a prime season for the awakening and the care of the human soul, which is nurtured by the beauty that nature offers us.
Everything evokes a feeling of re-birth.”
…and then it would be nice to be able to take care of our spirit and body, taking long outdoor walks, taking time to reflect, but also for sporting activities.
“Wake up early in the morning and enjoy the new light of this season.”
“Regarding food, I always prefer the most simple and wholesome things; bread, cheese and great olive oil which reminds me of my childhood favorite flavors.”
“For women’s looks, I would choose the purity of forms and colors with an inclination to the various shades of white, panama, chalk, stone, sand, rice and shell — combined with the natural shades of the stones, rush and jute and little touches of never loud and very reassuring colors: petal, geranium, green ivy and mint green mix with powder pink, dark blue or a variety of other colors.”
