I knew I wanted to be a fashion editor when…
I was an intern at Aeffe showroom in NYC and a fashion editor from W came in to do a pull for a story. I asked what she was doing and I knew I wanted to do that.
My first job out of college was…
A paid internship for IMG Models in Paris.
I’ve learned the most by working with…
A few different people. Nina Garcia at Elle — check every detail, always assume you need to inform people of everything. Sue Owen – the French market and all the designers in it. Virginia Smith and the team at Vogue – I learned a great deal about fashion and translating it to service people around America. I also learned to be diplomatic and gracious. Stefano Tonchi – I learned that it’s not enough to know about fashion but its important to learn about the style around you from design, art, architecture and being well rounded. Fabien Baron and Karl Templer — how to make a striking, unforgettable image.
My biggest challenge is…
Finding enough time in the day to do everything I love — work, charity, exercise, friends.
The best thing about my job is…
Being surrounded by incredibly talented, creative people who are inspiring. I travel to the most beautiful cities and see things that one could only dream of and meet wonderful people.

I cannot live without my…
Balenciaga blazer. I have it in a light wool and a nice cotton and wear it all season with everything — skirts, trousers, etc. For summer it’s a navy blue wool/cotton and winter it’s a heavier wool.
My best investment piece ever is…
A Chanel shift dress and tweed cardigan — its timeless, great for spring/summer and its Chanel so it is guaranteed to have a long shelf life. I also have to say that nice outerwear goes a long way – Rick Owens leather jacket, Balenciaga white motorcycle jacket, Miu Miu classic navy trench.
This summer, I will splurge on…
A pair of good wedges — I love to take the subway and need to be in comfortable shoes so I think I will buy a very expensive pair of Balenciaga wedges in black with gold hardware – they will work with my work uniform — a pair of trousers and a shell or a full skirt and t-shirt.
For Spring 2012, my favorite collection is…
Nina Ricci’s Spring/Summer collection – it is so beautiful. I want to wear every piece in that collection. My favorite look was a fitted floral long sleeve blouse and a matching skirt, it’s so feminine but in a modern way.
Hands down, my favorite designers are…
Nicolas Ghesquiere, Muiccia Prada and Peter Copping. Every season I want to buy everything they make!
