Pose partner Rachel Zoe, for instance, keeps tabs on pals like designer Jenni Kayne and WhoWhatWear’s Katherine Power. “It’s the perfect way to stay updated on their newest fashion obsessions,” Zoe tells SaksPOV. “I love that I can see (and shop!) my friends’ outfits! It’s a really great way to find new style inspiration, too.”

Here, more fashion intel from the stylist extraordinaire behind The Zoe Report. And don’t forget to check out her new fall collection in store and at Saks.com.

SaksPOV: What are five things every woman needs this fall?
Rachel Zoe: Leather pants — opt for a fitted legging or edgy flare. Tuxedo-inspired blazer — it’s perfect to wear to work or, dressed up over a flirty dress, for a night out. Something velvet — try my cropped Ian pant with a white tee and leather jacket. A cape — it’s a great staple for any wardrobe because you can throw it on over your wide-leg jeans or a minidress with tights. And a slouchy knit is a must — try an oversized cardigan or even an asymmetrical pullover.

SaksPOV: Which shoe will work best with the most outfits?
R.Z.: I love booties! They are a great option for pants and dresses. Go for a light neutral color and an extra high heel to elongate your legs.

SaksPOV: How do you shop vintage and make it look contemporary?
R.Z.: Mix high-end with contemporary and a little bit of vintage, with modern touches.

SaksPOV: What was your first designer purchase?
R.Z.: When I was on vacation with my family in Europe, I bought a Louis Vuitton bucket bag.

SaksPOV: How can someone pull off the quintessential Rachel Zoe look?
R.Z.: I’m not sure I have one quintessential look because my style really depends on my mood, occasion and the season. You will often catch me running around town in wide-leg denim, an LNA tee, one of my vintage Chanel blazers and round sunnies. Other times, I might opt for a maxi dress and some platform wedges — effortless glam.
